Be Back Soon!

Just a quick post for anyone who doesn't follow me on Twitter. Falling for Grace will be going on a short break for a week!
I'm currently in the middle of moving house at the moment and it's been very stressful managing the blog/social media and moving, all whilst caring for a hyper-active toddler! Ha ha.
The blog will be back up a week today - with a new post on the 7th March, at 6pm.

I'm really sorry but I would rather do a 'proper job' with the blog rather than having short posts that lack quality.

Hope to see you all next week!

Liebster Award!

I was nominated me for the Liebster Award last week by the lovely Celine  from I have done this award before quite a lot of years ago but I thought I'd give it a go a few years later as I love doing things like this.
If you don't know, here's how the whole thing will work:

Basically someone nominates you and in their post they've answered 11 questions before nominating 11 other bloggers with less then 1000 followers/readers.
They'll create 11 different questions for their nominees to answerer them.
If you were nominated you'll answer these questions and again nominate 11 other bloggers and so on...

Make sure to let them know about their nomination and add their links to your blog.

Let's get on with the questions;

1. What does your blog name mean?
My daughters name is Grace and I wanted to incorporate her in some way in my blog name, seen as my blog is not only about beauty and lifestyle but also about mum advice. The 'falling for' part just came out of nowhere really, but it had a good ring to it I thought.

2. What's the best part of blogging for you?
I've just wrote a post about this coincidentally (it's here if you want to read it) but I think the fact that my confidence has grown a lot since blogging, and it's helped me face a
Lot of issues with just talking about it.

3. If you had the chance to work with any brand which one would it be and why?
This is a hard one as I love so many, I think I'd love to work with E.L.F purely because my love of blogging started with writing about their products in my hauls. I love their products too, they're brilliant.

4. In a movie about your life who would play you?
If I wanted to make myself sound better I'd love have someone like Michelle Keegan purely because I think she's beautiful ha ha. But realistically I think Kristen Stewart would be good because of how awkward she is! Ha ha

5. What was the first concert you've been to?
My first concert was to see S Club 7, if you grew up in the 90's and 00's you'll know how big they was in the Uk, and I saw them just before they announced they were splitting. It was so amazing I remember it well.

6. Do you share blog posts openly with people you know?
This is something I haven't really talked about but no one I personally know, apart from my mum, Dad and best friend know about my blog (well that I know of) I think I prefer it better that way because I can be completely at ease with my blog posts .. If that makes sense.

7. Who's your favourite blogger?
I have a few! I think I would have to say Anna Saccone Joly though, purely because of how far she had come, not only as a blogger but a youtuber too. She constantly works, and I think her motivation to achieve is inspiring.

8. Is there anything you'd give up your blog for?
If it was affecting me being a mother to my daughter then I would stop straight away. She always comes first.

9. What's your favourite food/meal?
I'd love to be able to say something healthy.. But I really can't. My favourite food is a weird one, sweet potato chips. My favourite meal would have to be a quarter pounder meal at McDonald's! Oops.

10. Cats or Dogs?
Dogs! I'm allergic to cats unfortunately

11. Blogger or Wordpress?
Blogger! But I've never tried Wordpress so I'm pretty biased.

Thanks again to Celine for the questions.

Here are the blogs I nominate:

Here are your questions:
1. What do you love most about blogging?
2. What makes you happy?
3. What's your best beauty product?
4.  What colour and style is your hair naturally?
5. What's your worst beauty habit?
6. Best advice you've been given?
7. Make up brushes or beauty blender?
8. What is your favourite month?
9. If all of your family, pets, etc was safe.. What would you save if your house was on fire?
10. What's your favourite life quote?
11. What are your current life goals?

Hope you enjoyed this post, if you do the Liebster award please leave the link below, I'd love to read yours!

Why I love being a blogger

I had a look the other day how long I have had my blog, and it's been 4 years in April! Wow.
I haven't always worked so hard on my blog but for the past 2 years I have really focused my attention on it. I'll admit there have been times where I have doubted myself as to why I put so much effort into posts and trying my hardest, but then there are other days where I think 'wow, I love doing this!' Here are a few reasons why I love blogging...

When I first started blogging I was finishing my last year in sixth form at school. I didn't take writing really seriously to be honest and it was something to occupy my spare time and I was curious to try it out for myself - it was also a tool to procrastinate so I didn't have to do my school work, turns out I'm still using that excuse 4 years later ha ha!
As the years have gone by I have enjoyed it more than I expected, over the past few years a lot has changed in my life; I've finished my a levels, went to university, left university, had a job, and then fell pregnant and became a mum. As I've grown as a person I feel my blog has with me, and it's always been on the side through a long period of my life, and as the years have progressed so has my love for writing. I've never really had many hobbies either, apart from my sewing but eventually that became my work. For me, blogging has always been, probably, one of my only hobbies and has been something I have thoroughly enjoyed doing in my spare time.

One of the main reasons I love blogging is the one thing I didn't think would happen, but something I have come to realise lately - how much my confidence has grown - not only with writing but within myself. I started blogging when I was only 18 years old, I was quite a shy and anxious person, caught in the middle of a teenager's attitude to life but wanting that more grown up lifestyle, however I had really bad confidence issues and was scared of trying new ventures. Blogging in a weird way helped me see my strengths, but also my weaknesses in order to work on them. It helped me come to terms with some deeper issues, like when I was asked by The Priory to write about mental health stigma, or my own issues with panic attacks and anxiety. With delving into the more personal issues within my self I think I've actually stopped to address the issues, and whilst doing that I hope that I've helped a few people along the way.

Making new friends whilst blogging has been another thing I didn't expect I'd achieve. I've spoke to so many different people, whom I would never have had the chance to talk to. It's such a big community out there and it's brilliant how everyone looks out for each other.

Finally, I would be lying if I didn't say that trying new products is an amazing opportunity. The reason why I have my blog is purely because writing is a passion of mine, not to make money or get freebies, however when you're offered something that you genuinely want to try,  it is obviously a huge bonus (this rarely happens by the way! Ha ha.) 99% of the time I buy the products with my own money that I talk about or review, and it's brilliant to try new things that I wouldn't generally buy because I would tend to stick to what I knew. As an avid reader of blogs and watching youtubers, I love seeing tips and tricks, so it's fantastic to know that when I find something that helps me and I share it, I'm then helping someone else, or so I hope!

As the years go by, I love being a blogger more and more, I can't wait for all the new ideas I have planned!
Are you a blogger? If so, what's the thing you love the most? Let me know in the comments

No7 Stay Perfect Foundation review

If you read my posts often you'll know that I love the No 7 Stay Perfect foundation. It is the one foundation that nothing seems to beat and it has been my daily foundation for at least a year now. I've been asked to review this quite a few times so I thought it was time to share my views on this amazing product.

Firstly, the bottle. It has a brilliant pump, which I love about foundations, it's very easy to get the correct amount onto your face, I generally use two pumps, purely because I like a bit more coverage as it is a very lightweight foundation.

It has a brilliant undertone, it's not orange like some foundations can be, and rarely looks 'cakey' on the skin. I use the shade 'cool ivory' and I probably need to admit that my skin has become a lot paler in the winter so really I should try the shade lighter, but it still doesn't look like I am wearing a foundation too dark for my skin tone. A quick tip as well, because No7 foundations can only be purchased in Boots, (I think) make sure you try the match test they normally offer - the lighting in the shops is useless and you'll end up having 3 shades darker than what you should have, it is one of the few match tests that are normally correct.

The foundation itself is faultless, it honestly does last all day (and the next day if you're being naughty and forget to take your make up off - I'm guilty.) It is very lightweight, durable and easy to apply, I tend to use my beauty blender and it does the job brilliantly.

Over my foundation I tend to use the Rimmel Stay Matte pressed powder, purely because the No7 Stay Perfect foundation can leave a bit of a shine to your face, I have quite an oily t-zone and on bad skin days this can mean that my foundation looks overly shiny, however I use a little pressed powder and it works wonders with the foundation bringing an even skin tone and no over-oily areas. I have tried the No7 pressed powder but it wasn't too good.

Overall the No7 Stay Perfect foundation is my all time favourite, I have tried high-end and cheap foundations and non have come close to this one. It's faultless and works wonders on any skin tone, and considering some foundations price tag, this is relatively reasonable at £14.99. My holy grail of make up.

Hope you enjoyed this little review. Have you tried this foundation? Let me know what you think in the comments!

Beauty Wish List

I read so many blogs and watch a lot of youtubers and there is always something you find yourself lusting over. Here are some of the products I would love to try..

Laura Mercier translucent loose setting powder.
I've seen this product crop up on so many blogs and videos, and with the trend of 'cooking' or 'baking' your make up being the thing to try at the moment I would love to try it out.

Soap & Glory Kick ass instant re-touch powder
Another translucent powder I would love to try is the soap and glory instant retouch powder. I've only ever purchased body products from this brand, but I would love to try some of their make up line. This one claims to blur pores and reduce fine lines - something I desperately need help with under my eyes.
Bourjois rouge velvet in 'don't pink of it'
I've lusted after this lipstick for so long, and every time I go to purchase it, the sensible side stops me. I'm not a huge lipstick fan, well I am when it comes to buying them but not when I wear them. I love the shade and it has such brilliant reviews about it.. I'm sure one day the impulsive side of me will buy it!

Benefit 'Lemon Aid' concealer
This is one thing that I haven't heard of until recently, but something that I would love to try. It is a yellow coloured powder to help colour correct against redness and discolouration. I have been using the E.L.F colour corrector however I've found that it seems to make fine lines more visible, so I would love to try this to see if it works any better.

Benefit 'The Porefessional face primer'
Again this is another lusted after product, and something well known. I've tried a lot of primers and nothing seems to have the 'wow factor,' so I would love to try this and see how well it works for me. It has brilliant reviews from a lot of people, and from my experience Benefit products are generally amazing.

Hope you enjoyed this different kind of post. Have you tried any of these products? If so what did you think of them?

mummy tag

I've been tagged quite a few times to do this post, so seen as its 'Mummy Monday' I thought I'd finally do it, here goes..

1. Are you a Stay at Home Mum, or a Working Mum?
Right now I'm a stay at home mum, childcare costs A LOT and all my family works so I financially can't afford to go back to work. However when Grace goes to Nursery my aim is to train to be a teaching assistant.

2. Would you have it any other way?
I love being at home with Grace every day and seeing her grow, it is the best thing ever and I'm glad I am able to. However, because she is with me most of the time, she isn't very independent when we're at play groups and she is very shy so I think next year when she goes to nursery it will do her good.

3. Do you co-sleep?
Not intentionally - Grace was always a brilliant sleeper and slept in her own bed, but then she had a lot of illnesses from November until January which I then found out was asthma attacks so she slept in my bed, since then it's been hard getting her back in her own bed.

4. What is your one must-have item for your baby?
This is a hard one, I think there are so many brilliant baby items out there now-a-days, but probably a grow-bag has been the most long lasting for my daughter. It takes the stress away from thinking whether they'll move covers over them self and worrying, plus my daughter won't sleep without hers now.

5. How many kids do you plan on having?
Just the 1 is fine by me at the moment! Haha.

6. Date night? How many nights per month?
I'm a single parent so haven't had one of these! I haven't actually left Grace with anyone for longer than a few hours, but once I move my mum has asked to have Grace stay over.

7. Your childs favourite show?
Mickey Mouse Clubhouse.. I literally dream about this programme!

8. Name one thing you bought before you had your baby and never ended up using?
Grace was in hospital for the first 3 months when she was born so I didn't really get that many things, when I spoke to someone after she was born it's a common thing for parents who know they'll have a nicu baby because of the fear of loss, so I didn't have anything that she didn't use. The one thing I did buy after she was born that barely got any use, was her baby swing. She used the neo-natal one whilst in hospital so I bought one for when she was home however she rarely went in it because she had a play mat and other little things that she was unable to use in the hospital, so that was a bit of a waste of money.

9. Your child’s favourite food?
She loves food! Probably Yorkshire Puddings and sweet corn are the two things she loves the most.

10. How many cars does your family have?
None! I don't drive, although I'm determined to learn next year.

11. Weight gain before pregnancy, during and after and now?
I put on a silly amount of weight when I was pregnant, all together it was 4st 7lb, and I've lost 4 stone of it so far.

12. Dream holiday with your kids?
My dream holiday with Grace would be to Disney Land, either America or Paris. I think she would be so excited to see all the characters - plus I'd be like a little child too!

13. Dream holiday without your kids?
Disney Land still! Although the America one would be pretty amazing. I've always wanted to go to America, it's the one place I dream of travelling to.

14. How has your life changed since your baby has been born?
I think I'm a lot less selfish, Grace comes first no matter what. I'm always busy and never get the time to just sit, whereas before if everything was done I'd happily slob out and do nothing for the rest of the day, with a child that's impossible.

15. Finish the sentence: 'It makes my heart melt to see … '
My daughter smile and laugh.

16. Where do you shop for your kids?
Everywhere really, I'm not too fussy with brands as long as they wash well! The one place I don't like buying her clothes from is Primark - purely because of how quick they shrink in the wash. I love Zara kids and river island though, they are so cute.
17. Favourite makeup and skincare products?
Make up would have to be the No7 foundation, oh and Benefit Hoola bronzer. And my favourite skincare products are generally from Clinique or Nivea.

18. Huggies or Pampers?
In terms of nappies I think both are useless, but Huggies wipes are brilliant!

19. Have you always wanted kids?
Not really, I always wanted kids when I was older, in my 30's, but I'm glad I had Grace.

20. Best part about being a mum?
I think just watching Grace learn new things and grow, and become her own little person and see her personality come through. Plus waking up so a smiling little face every morning is infectious, she's my world.

Hope you enjoyed this tag.. I tag anyone who hasn't done it yet!

Pirongs Unique Lifestyle Planner Review

I've wanted to write this post for a while but I wanted to use it for a little bit so I could properly review it. I randomly came across this brand whilst searching for a life planner. With saving for my house move I couldn't justify £40+ for an Erin Condren one so I'm so glad I found this one and to be honest I think it's just as amazing, plus at half the price it makes it even better!
The one I purchased is the A5 Pirongs Unique lifestyle planner, which is £20. The first thing I want to say is that this company is amazing. Not only can you fully personalise the planner from the front and back cover to what's on the pages and adding birthdays or special dates but the communication with the company is Amazing! I have honestly never bought anything and had such brilliant communication with a company. When I purchased and personalised my planner I received an email saying that I had forget to add what design I wanted to the back cover, they sorted it all out and a few extra tweaks to the planner. I received it really quickly, it was about 2 weeks - which was a lot quicker than I thought it would be, especially with it being personalised.

The planner itself is sectioned with a morning, afternoon and evening for each day along with a overview of the month. A double page covers 7 days, so it has lots of room for writing, with a daily to-do list and a weekly goals section and checklist.

Finally it has a section for Christmas including a Christmas card, gift and to do lists. It has lots of notes pages and a separate financial section for budgets and short/medium/long term goals, along with a New Years resolutions page and a bucket list. It really is a brilliant lifestyle planner.

Overall I haven't been so pleased with a purchase in a long time! It is absolutely brilliant. The company is fantastic too, I've never had such brilliant communication, and the planner it worth the money and more. I can't recommend Pirongs enough!
