Salt Dough impressions. |12 DAYS OF BLOGMAS

As we're drawing in to Christmas time I thought I'd share something for a cheap and quick Christmas present, that are brilliant especially if you have children. Salt dough!

For these all you need is:
1 cup of plain flour
1 cup of salt
half a cup of Luke warm water

There is literally only a few steps to make these, and it is incredibly simple, here we go..

Step 1. Take the salt and the flour and add to a bowl, and mix them ingredients around.

Step 2. Next add the half a cup of water, and mix until it is a dough like consistency

Step 3. Once your mixture is a dough like consistency, add some flour onto your work surface and roll out your salt dough to the size and shape you would like it.

. Step 4. Next take the impressions of what you would like, if you're doing your child's hand/footprint then make sure you press them down fully into the salt dough

Step 5. Now is the chance if you want to cut the salt dough into a different shape, or add a hole at the top to use as a tree decoration.
Step 6. Either using your hands or a spatula place the impression onto a baking tray or something similar
Step 7. Nearly done! Finally, either bake your salt dough impression on a low heat in the oven until it goes a golden brown or is hard, or place in the microwave for 2-3 minutes, but make sure you check it every 30seconds-1minute. Or you can leave it to air dry. Depending on the thickness of your creation it will change the amount of time baking or drying.

Step 8 (optional) paint your salt dough any way you like.

Hope you enjoyed this little step by step guide. There are so many different things to do with salt dough and it's a really fun, quick and cheap activity to do.

See you all again tomorrow for another Blogmas post!

Holls xo
