Benefit 'Do the Hoola Beyond Bronze kit' Review

Recently I was bought the Benefit 'Do the Hoola Beyond Bronze kit,' which includes five sample sized products and a brush for the Hoola bronzing powder. It also comes in a little box with a handy mirror and a tips and tricks booklet.

The kit contains the Hoola bronzing powder, Benebalm hydrating tinted lip balm, Hoola ultra plush lip gloss, a mini 'they're real!' Mascara and the new Dew the Hoola liquid bronze.

My first impressions of this kit is the brilliant value for money. Benefit make up isn't the cheapest but for £28.50 (Debenhams) I think it is well worth the money, they are all mini versions but considering the Hoola Bronzer alone is £23.50 (a normal sized) I think it's a good deal, especially if you're new to Benefit make up and want to try it before you invest in the full size product.

It also comes in a handy box, with a mirror, perfect if you want to use it on the go. The kit also comes with a tips and tricks booklet which allows you to get the best out of every product.
But anyways, let's get into the make up..

First up, the Hoola Ulta plush lip gloss. I think I knew instantly that I wouldn't like this as I'm not a fan of gloss. It didn't look very good on me at all. However, I did find it wasn't as sticky as some lip glosses can be, which is a plus. Also it is a very nude/translucent gloss, which would be brilliant for everyday use and it glides on well. It stays on your lips and overall it was a nice product, just not something that I would normally wear.

Next, is the new Dew the Hoola liquid bronze. I have read this isn't available in the full size until later this year, but don't quote me on that as I can't find out exactly when. I was really looking forward to trying this as I have read such good reviews, and honestly, I was so disappointed.
I have fair to medium skin tone, pretty average I'd say, but I just seemed to look orange after applying it, it didn't do anything to my skin apart from making me look like I had caked layers of foundation on in the wrong colour. It seems like a pretty pointless product to me if I'm honest. I don't have that much to say about it but I believe the hype wasn't all that it had cracked up to be. On a more positive note however, it doesn't have glitter or a shimmer to it which makes it a lot better for everyday use, and it adds a slight glow to your skin, allowing you to use it alone or under your foundation.

Now onto a lighter note, the 'They're real!' Mascara. I had the full size version of this, so I'm no stranger to this product, however I haven't used it in a while, and it made me fall in love with this all over again. It's a fantastic mascara, which helps build fuller and thicker looking lashes. I prefer my lashes to look big, so this is the perfect mascara for me. It leaves no clumps and the brush is brilliant, as it allows just the right amount of product onto the applicator, separating the lashes and adding volume. I love this mascara!

In the kit is the Benebalm tinted lip balm in a red tone. At first I thought I would hate this as I prefer nude/pink tones on my lips, however this is a very subtle red. The balm is very pigmented and it glides on your lips lovely, and as I've said it is a subtle hint of colour. It is perfect for people like me, who don't like vibrant colours on your lips. I actually surprised myself with how much I like this.
Finally, the main part for me in this set, the Hoola bronzing powder. I have wanted this for so long, and after reading so many reviews, along with seeing so many youtubers talk about it, I just had to try it, and let me tell you I won't be going back to another bronzer again. It's a beautiful warm golden shade, and it's a brilliant colour and texture that allows you to build (or not) with, creating the perfect contour. I can't stop telling people how wonderful this is. You also get an applicator brush with it, I use it along my nose along with creating a rough guide of where my contouring will be on my cheeks, then I will buff it out with a buffing brush, as I have found the Hoola brush is quite precise. However if you use it horizontally under your cheek bones and then vertically you can use the same brush to buff it out slightly. It has definitely exceeded my expectations of the bronzer, I love it.

Overall I really like the 'Do the Hoola beyond bronze' kit. As with any ready made kits, there will be products you like better than others, but pretty much all of these will be used in my everyday make up. I'm so glad I have tried this!

Hope you enjoyed the review! Have you tried this kit? Let me know what you thought of it in the comments.

Holls xo
